The fabric of performative elements is woven into the performance in a holographic manner. Just as in a hologram, where every fragment contains the entire image, each individual performative act contains layers of accumulated time. In the performance, this reveals the way in which composition, choreography, meaning, and narrative are produced. In doing so, it approaches the logic of the audience’s experience of such an event.
Through a series of meetings over the past few years of research, we have documented more than 200 hours of material with the aim of allowing it to take shape on its own, without the desire, as authors “from the outside,” to forcefully decide on its form or determine any specific points of its creation. Thus, it is more about observing, perceiving, and detecting what is happening, about articulating and actualizing what already is, rather than deciding on the directions of the performance. The performance is based on questioning improvisation as a medium and determining the reference points of the performance.
Obed has developed tools based on the long-standing experience of all participants. It is a democratic, horizontal space for creating new landscapes and new aesthetics, grounded in the conditions of production and an interest in developing one’s own practice, rather than in the representation of specific themes.
