Choreographic Turn is an approach to contemporary dance work(s) that provides contemporary dance makers of different profiles with a synergy of diverse elements of the dance production system. Its aim is the re-professionalization of contemporary dance in Slovenia, the possibility of continuity and quality in creation across all working phases, and the development of artistic, production, and discursive competencies.
Each Choreographic Turn is created by a group of curators and presents to the public what the field itself evaluates and recognizes as essential dance content. The word “turn” carries both a production-related and a re-directional meaning, underscoring that artistic production always combines both aspects.
